Bengt Gustavsson

Bengt Gustavsson, MD, Ph.D, Prof. is the founder of Isofol Medical and was the head of surgical oncology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He co-discovered the positive effects of leucovorin on 5-FU that created the widely used combination treatment against colorectal cancer.

Bengt Gustavsson has been a member of the scientific committee of the Swedish Cancer Society since 1996, and has been a member of its scientific committee for two terms. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Surgical Society, Swedish Surgical Society and the Swedish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
